The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is tasked with performing follow-up investigations and collecting evidence. Once a case is received, it is reviewed by one of several unit supervisors who will then assign the case to a detective. Criminal cases are assigned to a detective based on the type of offense committed and the investigative focus required. Learn more about the case assignment process in this PDF document.
