Texas Artifacts & Treasures | May 2 - May 31
These special collections of artifacts will include Republic of Texas Maps from 1836-1845, Texas Cigar Boxes from 1893 to 1920 and local Tyler bottles from 1880 to 1914. The exhibit will showcase 45 special artifacts collected by Tyler's own Antiquarian Kenneth Cromer.
When asked “why do you collect these types of artifacts?” “Because it makes history come alive and you can hold it in your hand,” said Mr. Cromer. He has walked creek beds, crawled under houses, and even dug in privies to find his treasures. He has traveled all over Texas and Oklahoma looking for that rare find. “This is what I live for,” said Mr. Cromer.
