Support Library Programs

The Friends of the Tyler Public Library is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Tyler Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Learn more about the Friends and how you can support Library programs!

The Friends have been able to provide a variety of enhancements to the library including:

  • Enhanced children's story time activities & supplies
  • Special speakers & performers
  • 3D printer & supplies
  • Reading programs & prizes
  • Public copiers - includes free scan to USB service
  • Seed library upkeep
  • Programming supplies
  • And so much more!

Tyler Area MPO Open House

The Tyler Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will host an open house on Tuesday, April 28, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Tyler Development Center, Large Conference Room, located at 423 W. Ferguson St.  

This will be a come-and-go event. Staff from the MPO will be on hand to answer questions, provide information regarding the updates, and receive public feedback.  

The Open House is to inform the community about estimated cost updates for two highway projects and two pedestrian projects included in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).  

Projects include:  

  • Widening of FM 2493 from Loop 323 to FM 2813   

  • Widening of State Highway 31 from Loop 323 to County Road 236 

  • UT Tyler pedestrian safety enhancement project 

  • Tyler ISD traffic signal at Loop 323 and Lion Lane
